Sophie Gebhardt - Director of Editing

Sophie is Red Letter’s Director of Editing. She completed a Bachelor in Arts (Hons) at the University of Melbourne and tutored and lectured in the Department of English & Cultural Studies from 1995 - 2000. Sophie has been working in publication for 15 years, beginning as a voluntary co-editor on Australia’s most recognised postgraduate journal, Antithesis, and discovering a passion for clean copy and good expression that led her to practice her craft professionally. In 1999 Sophie was instrumental in setting up Editxpress, now one of Australia’s longest-running online editing sites. As managing editor, Sophie has worked for clients not only Australia-wide but also from the US, UK and Asia. She has established a firm reputation for her work with overseas postgraduate students from the scientific and technical disciplines. Sophie has been freelance editing, proofreading and writing for the last five years following two years as editor of Metro and Screen Education magazines. Currently completing a law degree at La Trobe University, Sophie has a diversity of professional experience that has contributed to her ability to edit a vast range of documents, including reports, business plans, journal articles, legal documents, MA and PhD theses, magazine articles and PR material. Sophie has been a Full Member of the Society of Editors (Victoria) since 2005.

Felicity Van Rysbergen - Director, Copywriting

Felicity is Red Letter’s Director of Copywriting. She spent over five years lecturing and tutoring in the Department of English at the University of Melbourne, and two years as Head Lecturer at La Trobe University’s Engineering and IT department, where she designed, wrote, and taught ‘An Introduction to Professional Communication’ course for 200+ students. As a professional copywriter for the last seven years, she has created clever, versatile, and successful documents for a diverse range of high-profile client campaigns in Australia, Asia, the US, UK, and Europe. Felicity has honed her craft in the creation of press releases, direct marketing materials, internal communications, articles, advertising copy, web content and B2B brochures that have achieved tangible results in the PR, marketing and brand management sectors. As well as a diverse and impressive portfolio of writing work, Felicity quickly rose to the position of General Manager at hip Sydney PR and Brand Management house, Line Communications (now The Trish Nicol Agency). She managed a small PR team and a stable of high-profile clients while building the company's reputation for fast, intelligent and succinct copy with flair. Felicity created Well Versed in 2008 to further pursue her passion for writing elegantly crafted, easy-to-understand materials that are informative and effective. She now consults across a broad range of industries, including advertising, marketing, construction, education, financial, IT, and online sectors. Formal education includes a BA (Hons) degree in English from The University of Melbourne and a PhD with the Journalism and Media Research Centre at UNSW (completing late 2009).

Stefan Morris - Director, Publishing & Design

Stefan Morris is Red Letter’s Publishing & Design Director, with 20 years experience in London as a book designer and project manager. As a Senior Designer and Design Manager at Dorling Kindersley Stefan designed and produced adult reference titles such as ‘Annotated Art’, a licensed product for Star Wars, and the highly successful ‘Travel Guides’ series. More recently, as Design Manager and Art Director at Carlton Books, Stefan produced the highly successful boxed set ‘Experience’ books, working in collaboration with such institutions such as The Imperial War Museum, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, the Marmottan-Monet Museum and the Van Gogh Museum. Since relocating to Australia, Stefan has produced a reference book on Galileo for Taschen and marketing and fundraising material for the Franklin D Roosevelt Presidential Museum NY, in collaboration with Springwood SA, a Swiss packaging client. He also works on various projects for Carlton Publishing Group. Stefan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Red Letter, providing clients with the opportunity to source all their publication and communication needs from one location. His professional history means that he knows how to respond to client specifications and provide exactly the right design solution for any project.

Simon Plunkett - Director, Projects

Red Letter’s Project Director, Simon Plunkett brings over four years of Project Management experience and 10 years of tertiary level teaching to the agency. In addition to providing proofreading services for Red Letter, Simon’s energetic personality and organisational management skills assist us in managing larger communications projects requiring multiple resources and staff. Simon is also responsible for maintaining regular client contact and updates on their project’s progress, quality control, HR coordination, and customer satisfaction. Simon has taught ESL and Professional Communication at local and international universities and holds a BA in languages from ANU as well as postgraduate degrees in Education and Business (Project Management). He has worked for Not for Profit agencies, Mission Australia and the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) in Project Management and Compliance Management roles. Simon’s experience managing State Government projects for ACER provides added value to Red Letter’s impressive communications expertise.
